I'm my own woman. I enjoy my own company and my own tea party.

All we need for "a perfect lonesome tea party" are tea you like, good books, delicious cakes, a lovely vase of your favorite flowers, beautiful gentle music and no one else except ourselves.

One of my Christmas presents was a Polaroid 300 Instant Camera . I've been addicted to it. Since it's great to be able to make photos again as it used to be in the good old days. Each picture is unique and will be cherished.
This is a small drawing that I created with pen to use as the profile picture for my facebook.

Chalkboard artworks have always cheered me up.
I created this drawing on paper in this style. The black background and white strokes gave it a gentle touch of old school days and country cuisine restaurants.
Besides, this is another drawing, related to tea as proof for my addiction to this hot beverage; and at the same time, it uncovered the truth, that I'm also a foreign languages junkie. ^^

La dame de thé- The tea lady

I call this drawing a touch of romance and a sigh for the lost beautiful old days. 

When I talk about tea, I mention neither herbal tea nor fruit tea. To me, the word "tea" means the hot aromatic beverage prepared from the leaves or leaf buds of the Camellia sinensis plants. Through different techniques with which it is produced and processed, tea is classified into white tea, yellow tea, green tea, oolong, black tea and post-fermented tea.

I got my inspiration from the antique botanical lithography illustration of the tea plant from the German medicinal guide "Köhler's Medizinal-Pflanzen", one of the most well-known handbooks of medical plants in the 19th century.

Let them eat cake

This is my last post of this July, before I go on a Finland vacation.

"Let them eat cake", translated from French for the phrase "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche", is thought to be said by Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, when she learned that the peasants had no bread. However, we are not sure, if it's for real.

Tea and Melone Pan

 

I had a sketch session with a media design student at the zoo in Frankfurt on saturday. Later, we went to a japanese pâtisserie called Iimori to have a cup of tea. The sencha I ordered was served in a small cast iron teapot decorated with momiji motive. The waitresses in this café have lovely country-looked uniforms. What a charming pâtisserie!

All tea shop owners in my small city know me. Because they see me in their shops at least once a week. No place smells dreamlike like a tea shop. Besides, somehow all tea shop owners are friendly and very nice, maybe because they drink tea everyday and it calms them down. Sometimes I wish I had enough money to buy all kinds of tea and all tea things (cups, pots, filters, spoons, etc.)  they have in their shops.
I hadn't thought doodling tea things could be very fun, but it really did and I couldn't stop doodling a new one after another.

 This tea pot with rose motive is very lovely. Unfortunately, there is a small crack on it surface, that's why I got it very cheap from my favourite tea shop

Got this one from a tea shop where the owner sold dried fruits which tastes excellent with tea. Unfortunately, the shop went out of business..

 Mum sent this Japanese tea cup with the saucer from Vietnam to me.

 This one is a lovely small cup with a vintage touch.

This one is one of my favourite cups. Tropical and colourful.
